You and your doctor have a discussion, discuss your smoking history, the pros and cons for low-dose CT scans, if you are eligible for the screening, and any other concerns/questions to be answered.
Low-dose CT scans takes pictures of the lungs and a small amount of radiation. Scan identifies normal lung tissue, small round growth, and/or other conditions that can affect the lungs.
